Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All

xmas3Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

We know wsanta1hat the majority of you are doing – joining us here at the Kingston-on-Murray Caravan Park and we are looking forward to hosting your stay.  Bookings for this Christmas are outstanding.

We will be welcoming overseas visitors and interstate/intrastate tourists and there will be a number of family gatherings.  This is a great xmas2time of year that really brings people together.

Lets’s not forget the other family member – our four legged friends.  Yes, they sure can come on holiday with you at our park.

There is so much fun to be had and things to see and do at this time of year in the Riverland. Yes, the region is coming up trumps again exhibiting exciting, xmas4colourful pageants, firework displays, Christmas Lights, Santa’s Cave and generally letting it be known that we are here to celebrate and enjoy this festive occasion .  New Year’s Eve will be catered for with various indoor/outdoor functions within the major towns, the hardest thing for you to do is choose which event you would like to attend.

So what has been happening so far?

Well I did mention the pageants didn’t I?  The introduction of the big man in red really signified that Christmas is nigh.  There were magnificent parades with each one ending in a finale of a brilliant firework display.

The Barmeraxmas5 fireworks event would be the one to go to the top of my list.  It really was spectacular.  A massive effort and really appreciated by the enormous crowd.  The expressions of ooohs and arrhhhs seemed to be in stereo.  The atmosphere was electrifying.

At Waikerie you will find Santa’s Cave – this is a world of amazement for all ages to enjoy from nativity to wonderland. This magical experience can be found taking place within the air conditioned climate of the Waikerie Institute.  Santa will be in residence until Christmas Eve and the setting is open through to New Years Eve.

South Australia’s renowned Christmas Lights display can be found at Loxton.  You CANNOT miss this. Loxton’s Major event of the year – the month long Christmas Lights Festival –  where the town shines brighter than ever officially turning on its magic throughout the whole month of December. Thirty stunning displays stretch over 250 metres and include the nativity scene in Bethlehem, Christmas Village, Santa’s Boot, Lolly Shop, popular cartoon characters plus more. Hidden throughout the displays are 10 Where’s Wallies. It’s a challenge for young and old to try and find them all…can you?

Have you ever heard of a Singing Christmas Tree? Check the one out in Loxton. Friday & Saturdaloxton christmas treey evenings in December. Each of the 4 tiers on the 6 metre high Christmas tree is filled with enthusiastic singers who bring the tree to life with their rendition of much-loved traditional carols. Come and be entertained outside St Peter’s Lutheran Church from 8pm to 8.30pm on Dec 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st.

To round up the Christmas festivities and see in the new year, a suggestion would be to spend new years eve at the Renmark Riverfront.  They stage a fabulous family friendly show on the riverbank.  Stalls, showrides, food, fireworks and bands are right there on hand to help celebrate.  It really would be a great way to bring in 2014.

From our family to yours – Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Be safe and enjoy.
